The Studentenwerk München [Munich Student Union] serves 16 universities in Munich, Freising, Rosenheim and Benediktbeuern with a total of more than 90,000 students. We offer services, counselling and guidance for your university or college experience: from A – for Ausbildungsförderung [Educational grants] to Z for Zimmervermittlung [Student Accomodation Service].

 

The first contact point for any request or concern is the Studentenhaus [Student house] on Leopoldstraße:

There you will find:

• General Counselling
• The BAföG [federal academic loan program]-helpdesk
• Student Credit Counselling
• The Student Loan Advice
• Adminstrative offices for the cafeterias and dining facilities
• The helpdesk for Students with Children
• Psychotherapeutical and psychosocial counsellors
• The Main Administrative Offices of the student residences/dormitories

 

In a building called the "Schweinchenbau" [Piglet pen] for its bright pink color, across from the Studentenhaus [Student house], on Lepoldstraße 13, you will also find:

• Studentenbibliothek [Student library] of the Studentenwerk München [Munich Student Union]
• The Culture Bureau

 

Other points of contact in Munich are the:

 

• Psychosocial and Psychotherapeutic Counselling Office
• General Counselling near the TU and the University of applied sciences
• Student Legal Counselling near the TU
• various administrative offices for student housing in Munich
  

In addition to these offices, we have local branch offices for students in Freising and Rosenheim.
